CONGRATULATIONS!

We thank very much, the selected as well as the not selected, their participation in this selection phase for the 2005 Young Hispanic Leaders Program. Since the high amount of applicants, the very little number of vacancies and the high level of the participants, the selection has been very difficult. Taking advantage of this opportunity we encourage every one not selected at this time, as well as the new aspirants, to apply next year.

THE PROGRAM "JÓVENES LÍDERES HISPANOS" OF THIS YEAR HAS ALREADY BEEN SCHEDULED.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED FROM FEBRUARY 15 TO MARCH 15, 2005

GIVEN THE HIGH NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS AND DUE TO THE REQUEST OF MANY INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS, IT WAS DECIDED TO EXTEND THE APPLICATION SUBMISSION PERIOD UNTIL MARCH 31, 2005

Young Hispanic Leaders Program

Santander & Madrid, Spain

June 23-July 2, 2005

Description and Objective of the Program:

The annual Young Hispanic Leaders Program was founded in 1998 at the initiative of the US-Spain Council (a private forum founded by U.S. and Spanish authorities to enhance relations between the two countries) and is sponsored by the Fundación Carolina. It is carried out with the collaboration of the Fundación José Ortega y Gasset and the Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo.

The objective of this program is to allow future Hispanic leaders from the United States to familiarize themselves firsthand with Spain’s new political, economic, social and cultural environment.

Since its founding, close to 90 young U.S. citizens of Hispanic origin have been chosen in a competitive selection process to participate in this program. This year the program will take place from June 24-July 3.
